If your dog is not a meat lover, then choosing a dog food that does not contain any meat is an excellent idea.

Some dogs are meat lovers and you have found one in the food. If your dog is not a fan of meat, many other foods are high in protein and affordable.

There are many kinds of dog foods out in the market, some are more expensive than others. However, if your dog does not get enough nutrients from the food, then there may be something to change.

Many times, when dogs are hungry, they lick up the food instead of having it taken care of by their stomach. If your dog does not eat enough every day, then try switching up the foods to make sure you are providing enough nutrients.

Use things like meat or vegetable dishes to make sure your dogs get enough nutrition.

Calculate the calories needed per day

For dogs between one and three years, the minimum daily calories needed is around 25–30 grams of protein per day. For dogs between three and five years, the minimum daily protein intake is 20–25 grams per day.

For dogs between five and six months to two years, the minimum daily calories needed are around 25–30 grams of protein per day. For dogs between two and four years, the minimum daily protein intake is 20–25 grams per day. For dogs up to six months of age, the minimum weekly calories needed are around 75–100 kcal/day[1].

For older dogs, we recommend 75–100 kcal/day to prevent weight loss and weight gain. The reason for this is that older dogs may have less muscle mass or less desire to hold weight due to pain from eating even more food.

Some studies show that eating too much can cause vitamin or mineral levels in the dog’s bloodstream to drop.

Bring the dog to its ideal body weight

If your dog is overweight, he or she should be at least half a normal weight for their size. This is the normal weight for dogs in the middle of the spectrum in weight.

The ideal weight for a dog is about double its size. So, a miniature pointer would be about two pounds of solid food.

If you divide it into weekly doses, you are looking at a few grams of oil. Less than a grain of rice per day can seem like not much. But for dogs, it can be very effective.

Some oils such as grapeseed and sunflower contain more than one serving of oil per week. You do not need that much oil to cover your dog’s skin or other parts of his body where exposure is possible.

Just make sure that you do not give it in big doses; the dogs may have trouble passing it through their diet. too much Oil can cause them to suffer from dry skin and coat.

Give them water to drink

Most dogs will drink water if they are drinking enough. If your dog is not drinking enough, then you should give them more water to keep them hydrated.
