Yes, Minskins are hairless cats. Minskins are actually a hybrid though, having been bred from the Munchkin and the hairless Sphynx. This means that, unlike some other hairless cats, all Minskin cats, without fail, are completely hairless. The hairlessness results from a genetic mutation that causes their fur to practically disappear—the fur that is present is soft and barely-there. These cats, while hairless, also still have whiskers, eyebrows and eyelashes. For many people, the lack of fur is a huge plus, as it cuts down on the need for regular grooming and removes the possibility of shedding fur around the house. However, Minskins don’t produce the oil that other furred cats do, so they require regular baths and moisturizing to keep their skin healthy.
