Radiated tortoises generally lay between 3 - 5 eggs per clutch, usually in the dry season when food is plentiful and temperatures are moderate. They often nest in sandy areas and may have up to four clutches per season, with 4 to 5 weeks in between.
It's important to note that if the nesting area is disturbed too much or if the eggs become too hot or too cold, the tortoise may abandon the clutch and start over. Additionally, not all tortoises may lay eggs each year, as this is dependent upon age, health, and dietary condition.
